He mattered to so many people in different ways, and each of them has their own memories of him, their own reasons for loving him and their own reasons for missing him.
To me, he will always be my beautiful son. I miss his voice, his hugs, his humour and  having him in my life.

• Additional information:  Michael's friend was cutting his hair before he went missing. The haircut went badly so it was decided to shave it off.
  Police searched for the human remains of Michael Purse across a 28-kilometre zone in South Australia's Mid North and Adelaide Plains—specifically targeting areas between Mallala and Balaklava, including Pinkerton Plains, Salter Springs, Alma, Hamley Bridge, and Traeger Road. Michael's human remains were not located. 

Three men were sentenced in relation to Michael's disappearance. Two made a plea deal by pleading guilty to manslaughter. One of these men agreed to take SAPOL to where he personally had disposed of Michael, however was unable to recall where Michael was when taken to the proposed location. The third man was sentenced to 28 years for the murder if Michael. (This sentence included some time for a previous crime).
